Rear Wheel Alignment: Inspection

NOTE: If the wheel alignment has been adjusted, and if suspension or underbody components have been removed/installed or replaced, be sure to perform the following initialization procedure in order for the system to function normally.
  1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal for more than 2 seconds.
  2. Reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal.
  3. Perform zero point calibration of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor and test mode inspection.
  1. INSPECT TIRE 
    1. Inspect the tires (see TIRE AND WHEEL SYSTEM ).
  2. MEASURE VEHICLE HEIGHT 
    1. Measure the vehicle height (see ADJUSTMENT ).
  3. INSPECT TOE-IN 

    Standard toe-in 

    SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

    A + B: 0° 18' +-15' (0.30° +-0.25°)
    C - D: 3.0 +-2.5 mm (0.12 +-0.10 in.)

    HINT:

    • Measure "C - D" only when "A + B'" cannot be measured.
    • If the toe-in is not within the specified range, inspect the suspension parts for damage and/or wear, and replace them if necessary.

  4. INSPECT CAMBER 
    1. Install the camber-caster-kingpin gauge or set the vehicle on a wheel alignment tester.
    2. Inspect the camber.

      Standard camber 

      SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Item Specified Condition
      Camber
      Right-left error
      -1° 30' +-30' (-1.50 +-0.5°)
      30' (0.5°) or less

      HINT:

      Camber is not adjustable. If the measurement is not within the specified range, inspect the suspension parts for damage and/or wear, and replace them if necessary.
