Engine Control System (1GR-FE): ECM: Removal

NOTE:
  • Perform RESET MEMORY (AT initialization) when replacing the automatic transmission assembly, engine assembly or ECM (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).
  • Perform REGISTRATION (VIN registration) when replacing the ECM (See REGISTRATION  ).
  • If the ECM has been replaced or RESET MEMORY (AT initialization) has been performed, set up the function of the ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) temperature warning light (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).
  • Perform the Throttle body initialization when replacing the ECM (See INSTALLATION  ).
  1. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE ECM 
    1. Disconnect the 6 ECM connectors, 6 No. 2 junction block connectors and wire harness clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and nut and the ECM.

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 JUNCTION BLOCK 
    1. Remove the bolt.
    2. Disengage the claw and remove the No. 2 junction block.

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 ECM BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and the No. 2 ECM bracket.

  6. REMOVE ECM BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and the ECM bracket.
