Pick-Up Coil Short Check

  1. Connect one ohmmeter lead to ground. Attach other lead to terminal 7, then to terminal 31d. Resistance reading should be infinity for all models.
  2. If resistance reading was not correct, disconnect harness from distributor. Connect ohmmeter leads to ground and to each pick-up coil pin in distributor. If readings are now correct, replace harness. If readings are still incorrect, replace pick-up coil.
