Removal & Installation: Removal

NOTE: Removal and installation information on 760 OLE with IF 4 HP22 automatic transmission was not available from manufacturer.

Remove air cleaner. Disconnect throttle cable at pulley and cable sheath at bracket. Remove 2 upper transmission-to-engine bolts/Remove transmission oil dipstick.
Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect oil filler pipe from oil pan and drain transmission fluid. Remove vehicle splash guard.
Disconnect muffler from hanger. Disconnect propeller shaft from transmission rear drive flange. Remove exhaust pipe clamps from bracket. Remove transmission support member attaching bolts. Pull support member back, twist and lift out. Remove rear transmission mount and exhaust pipe bracket
Disconnect speedometer cable from transmission. Disconnect oil cooler lines from transmission and oil cooler, then remove from vehicle. Disconnect gear shift control rod from transmission.
Remove torque converter cover plate. Remove starter motor attaching bolts and starter motor cover. Remove 4 torque converter-to-drive plate attaching bolts.
Support transmission with transmission jack. Remove 2 lower transmission-to-engine attaching bolts. Using a screwdriver, separate torque converter from drive plate. Lower transmission from vehicle.
