Crankcase ventilation system prevents the escape of blow-by gases into the atmosphere. The crankcase ventilation system for DL, GL, Turbo and 740 GLE models consists of a PCV nipple, flame guard, and connecting hoses. On 740 Turbo and 760 Turbo models, the system consists of PCV filter, calibrated nipple, and connecting hoses.

The system for 760 GLE models consists of a calibrated PCV orifice, flame guard, and connecting hoses to intake manifold and start injector.

Turbo diesel models route crankcase gases from top of valve cover through a connecting hose to the air intake duct. The system consists of an oil separator valve mounted on top of valve cover and connecting hoses to the turbo air intake.
