Engine Controls - Tests W/Codes: Introduction
If no faults were found while performing test procedures in the BASIC TESTING article, proceed with the SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS tests in this article. If you have not yet completed basic test procedures, go back to the BASIC TESTING article.
If no fault codes or only pass codes are present, proceed to the TESTS W/O CODES article for diagnosis by symptom (i.e., ROUGH IDLE, NO START, etc.).
NOTE:
All voltage tests should be performed using a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless stated otherwise in testing procedures.
