Door Multiplex Control Unit

  1. Remove driver's door trim panel enough to gain access to door multiplex control unit connector. See DOOR TRIM PANEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Turn ignition off. Disconnect door multiplex control unit Blue 20-pin connector. See Fig 1 . Ensure connector terminals are okay and making proper contact. Repair connector terminals as necessary and retest system. If connector terminals are okay, go to next step.
  2. Using a voltmeter, probe between door multiplex control unit Blue 20-pin connector terminal No. 1 (White/Yellow wire) and ground. See Fig 1 . See DOOR MULTIPLEX CONTROL UNIT CONNECTOR TERMINAL  IDENTIFICATION table. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check fuse No. 56 (7.5-amp), located in fuse/relay box, under instrument panel. If fuse is okay, check for open in White/Yellow wire.
  3. Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, probe between door multiplex control unit Blue 20-pin connector terminal No. 2 (Green/White wire) and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check fuse No. 17 (20-amp), located in fuse/relay box, under instrument panel. If fuse is okay, check for open in Green/White wire.
  4. Turn ignition off. Using an ohmmeter, probe between door multiplex control unit Blue 20-pin connector terminals No. 12 (Black wire) and No. 19 (Black wire) and ground. If continuity does not exist, check for an open in Black wire and/or bad ground connection. If wires and ground connections are okay, replace power window master switch.
