Belt Adjustment

  1. Using a crayon or other marker, mark direction of travel before removing belt (if reusing belt). If reinstalled in opposite direction, damage to belt will occur.
  2. Remove ribbed "V" belt guard. Slacken ribbed "V" belt with 15-mm wrench and hold in place with Holding Mandrel (V.A.G. 3204). Remove ribbed "V" belt. See Fig 1 .
  3. After ensuring there are no splits, cracks or other damage, install belt in reverse order of removal. Place ribbed "V" belt over drive rollers and idling roller first and onto tensioning roller last. Using a 15-mm wrench, remove holding mandrel and allow tensioning roller to move against belt. Install ribbed "V" belt guard.
