Door Control System Check

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Install scan tool. Turn ignition to ON position. Attempt to establish communication with Left Front Door Module (LFDM). If scan tool communicates with LFDM, go to step 3). If scan tool does not communicate with LFDM, go to next step.
  2. Attempt to establish communications with other modules connected to same serial data line (PCM, ABS, IPC, etc.). If scan tool communicates with other modules, see appropriate loss of communication DTC in BODY CONTROL MODULE article for diagnosis. If scan tool does not communicate with other modules, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  3. Using scan tool, select DISPLAY LFDM DTC function. If any current DTCs are stored, go to next step. If no DTCs are stored, go to step 5).
  4. If U1016, U1064, U1065, U1066, U1255, U1300 and/or U1301 DTCs are set, see appropriate loss of communication DTC in BODY CONTROL MODULE article for diagnosis. If above DTCs are not set, see DTC DEFINITIONS for DTC set.
  5. If customer complaint is with power mirrors, see procedures in POWER MIRROR SYSTEM CHECK  . If customer complaint is with power door locks, see REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY article. If customer complaint is neither with power mirrors or power door locks, go to POWER WINDOWS article.
