A single plate, dry friction diaphragm spring-type clutch is used in all models. The assembly consists of a clutch disc, pressure plate assembly and clutch release mechanism.
The clutch disc has a spring dampened hub to reduce transference of torsional vibrations from engine to transmission. Grooves in clutch disc lining eliminate vacuum created between members upon disengagement.
The clutch release mechanism consists of a clutch master cylinder (mounted on front of dash), a slave cylinder (mounted on transaxle), and a hydraulic line between the cylinders and a fluid reservoir. See Fig 1 .
