Fuel Gauge: Notes
- Disconnect negative battery cable and remove rear seat. Disconnect Yellow/Red lead at sending unit. Ground lead wire using a test lamp. Turn ignition switch on. Bulb should light and gauge pointer should fluctuate after a few seconds. If not, remove fuel gauge for testing.
- To test gauge, use an ohmmeter to measure coil resistance. Attach ohmmeter probes across FU and E terminals on back of instrument panel at fuel gauge. See Figure . Correct resistance is 55 ohms.
