Test No. 4

  1. Press LOCK button on transmitter. If doors lock, go to next step. If doors do not lock, see SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS  under SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS.
  2. Turn headlight and instrument panel dimmer light switch on. Observe parking lights. If parking lights illuminate, go to next step. If parking lights do not illuminate, go to step 4).
  3. Replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located under dashboard to right of glove compartment. Set system operation to customer preference. See REMOTE ACTIVATION VERIFICATION CUSTOMIZATION  and REMOTE UNLOCK CONTROL CUSTOMIZATION  under SYSTEM PROGRAMMING. Verify proper system operation.
  4. Turn headlight and instrument panel dimmer switch to PARK. Remove headlight and instrument panel dimmer switch to access connector. Using a test light, backprobe switch connector between terminal R (Brown wire) and ground. If test light is not on, go to next step. If test light is on, go to step 7).
  5. Using a test light, backprobe switch connector between terminal O (Orange wire) and ground. If test light is on, replace headlight and instrument panel dimmer switch. Recheck system operation. If test light is not on, go to next step.
  6. Check for an open between headlight and instrument panel dimmer switch connector terminal O (Orange wire) and PARK LP fuse. Also check Orange wire for a poor connection at switch connector. Repair as necessary. Recheck system operation.
  7. Check for an open between headlight and instrument panel dimmer switch connector terminal R (Brown wire) and splice No. 204. Splice No. 204 is located in instrument panel harness approximately one inch from radio breakout. Also check Brown wire for a poor connection at switch connector. Repair as necessary. Recheck system operation.
