Fog Light Indicator Inoperative

  1. Turn fog lights on. If fog lights are inoperative, repair as necessary. If fog lights operate, turn ignition off. Remove instrument cluster. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - PT CRUISER article. Go to next step.
  2. Turn fog lights on. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between 10-pin instrument cluster harness connector C2 terminal No. 1, fog light switch output circuit (Light Blue wire) and ground. See Figure. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Light Blue wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace instrument cluster. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - PT CRUISER article. After repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
