Front Impact Sensor

  1. Position sensor in vehicle.
  2. Connect electrical connector.
  3. Through the headlamp opening, install the two mounting screws retaining the front impact sensor. See Figure. Torque screws to 8.5 N.m (75 in. lbs.).
  4. Install the headlamp unit of the side in which you are replacing the sensor (Refer to ELECTRICAL/LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/HEADLAMP UNIT - INSTALLATION) .
    WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT THE BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE. (Refer to ELECTRICAL/RESTRAINTS - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING - AIRBAG SYSTEM)  FIRST. FAILURE TO DO SO COULD RESULT IN OCCUPANT PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.
  5. Verify vehicle and system operation.
  6. Close hood.
