Fuel-Cut System
- Disconnect negative battery cable. On Charade, remove glove compartment subassembly.NOTE: Before installing sub-harness, ensure continuity exists on all sub-harness leads, and ensure no terminals are shorted together.
- On all models, connect Sub-Harness (SST 09842-87704-000) between ECU and engine wiring. See Figure . Reconnect negative battery cable. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Install jumper wire between sub-harness terminals No. 32 and 29 on 1.0L Charade or between sub-harness terminals No. 12 and 39 on all others. See Figure .
- Gradually increase engine speed and note RPM at which engine speed stops increasing. Ensure engine RPM are within specifications. See FUEL-CUT SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS . Disconnect negative battery cable and remove sub-harness. Reconnect ECU and install battery cable.
