Solenoid Pull-In Coil Test
Disconnect starter solenoid-to-starter field lead. See Fig 1. Connect one battery negative lead to solenoid field coil terminal ("C" terminal on Prizm). Connect a second battery negative lead to the starter housing. Connect a 12-volt battery positive lead to solenoid "ST" terminal (terminal "50" on Prizm). Plunger should extend firmly. If not, replace solenoid.
