Anti-Lock Brake System: Description
The Teves Mark IVG Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) consists of a Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB) which may also be referred to as ABS control module, Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU), acceleration ("G") switch, main and pump/motor relays, Amber ABS warning light, Red BRAKE warning light, pump/motor, vacuum booster, master cylinder, 4 Wheel Speed Sensors (WSS) and axle shaft tone (pulse) rings. ABS control system is separate from other electrical circuits in vehicle. A separate CAB controls ABS operation. ABS hydraulic system is a 3 channel design. During ABS operation, front wheels are controlled individually and rear wheels are controlled together.
