Radiator, Engine Cooling: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING  .

  3. Disconnect the lower radiator hose (1).
  4. Remove the cooling fan. Refer to REMOVAL  .

    NOTE:

    The transmission oil cooler lines do not need to be disconnected.

  5. Remove the bolts (1) and position aside the transmission cooler (2).
  6. Disconnect the A/C pressure switch wire harness connector.

  7. Remove the bolt (1) securing the A/C line to the radiator.

  8. Remove the nut (1) securing the A/C discharge and liquid line junction block to the bracket (2).

  9. Remove the four bolts (1) securing the condenser to the radiator and position aside the condenser.

  10. Remove the two bolts (3) and the upper left side radiator mount cover (4).
  11. Remove the two bolts (2) and the upper right side radiator mount cover (1).

  12. Pull the radiator forward releasing the isolators (1) from the mount and remove the radiator (2).
