Power Mirror Inoperative
- Check AUDIO (10-amp) fuse located in passenger compartment fuse box. If fuse is blown, check for cause of blown fuse, and repair as necessary. Replace fuse. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Check for battery voltage by backprobing power mirror switch connector Green wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, locate and repair open in suspect wire.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect power mirror switch harness connector. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between ground and power mirror switch connector Black wire. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, locate and repair open in Black wire.
- Check power mirror switch. Power mirror switch is located left of steering column, in dash panel. See POWER MIRROR SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace power mirror switch as required. If power mirror switch is okay, go to next step.
- Reconnect power mirror switch connector. Disconnect suspect power mirror motor connector. See Figure . Turn ignition on. With power mirror switch in specified position, check for battery voltage at specified terminals of power mirror motor connector. See POWER MIRROR CIRCUIT TEST table. If battery voltage does not exist, locate and repair open in suspect wire between power mirror switch and power mirror motor harness connector. If battery voltage exists, check power mirror motor. See POWER MIRROR MOTOR under COMPONENT TESTS.
