Air Control Valve

  1. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Stop engine and check No. 1 relief valve. Disconnect air hose (pump inlet-to-air control valve) from air control valve outlet port. See Fig 1 . Start engine and run at idle speed.
  2. Disconnect vacuum sensing tubes from No. 1 relief valve. Air should be discharged at air control valve outlet port. Connect No. 1 relief valve directly to intake manifold vacuum. Air should NOT be discharged from outlet port.
  3. On automatic transmission models, connect No. 2 relief valve directly to intake manifold vacuum (No. 1 relief valve still connected to intake manifold vacuum). Air should be discharged from air control valve outlet port.
