Instrument Cluster Tachometer Malfunctioning

  1. Perform BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  . If any DTCs exist, go to appropriate DTC TEST. Start engine. Using scan tool, read BFC SPI INDICATOR STATUS menu. If TACH ACTIVE reading is ACTIVE, go to next step. If TACH ACTIVE reading is not ACTIVE, see appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section. Refer to menu below.
  2. Check instrument cluster connector terminal A7 (White wire) for poor connection. Repair as necessary. If connection is okay, replace instrument cluster.
