- Verify that ABS control module specification is correct. Contact local vehicle dealer. Replace as needed. Ensure vehicle is on level surface. Disconnect ABS control unit harness connector. See Figure . Measure resistance between harness connector terminals No. 1 and 13. See Figure . Resistance should be 550-670 ohms. If resistance is within specification, go to next step. If resistance is not within specification, go to step 3).
- Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between control unit harness connector terminals No. 1 and 20. If battery voltage is not present, inspect and repair circuit(s) as needed. See WIRING DIAGRAM at the end of this article. If battery voltage is present, replace ABS control unit.
- Disconnect "G" sensor harness connector. See Figure . Using ohmmeter, check resistance between sensor terminals. Resistance should be 550-670 ohms. If resistance is within specification, go to next step. If resistance is not within specification, replace "G" sensor.
- Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ABS harness connector terminal No. 13 and ground. If battery voltage is not present, inspect and repair circuit as needed. See WIRING DIAGRAM at the end of this article. If battery voltage is present, go to next step.
- Measure voltage between hydraulic unit motor harness connector (2 terminal) and ground. If battery voltage is not present, inspect and repair circuit as needed. See WIRING DIAGRAM at the end of this article. If battery voltage is present, replace ABS control unit.
