Transmission Case: Removal

  1. Remove the secondary pressure sensor. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION(TR580)>SECONDARY PRESSURE SENSOR>REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the turbine speed sensor. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION(TR580)>TURBINE SPEED SENSOR>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the secondary speed sensor. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION(TR580)>SECONDARY SPEED SENSOR>REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the primary speed sensor. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION(TR580)>PRIMARY SPEED SENSOR>REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the transmission harness. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION(TR580)>TRANSMISSION HARNESS>REMOVAL .
  6. Remove the control valve body. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION(TR580)>CONTROL VALVE BODY>REMOVAL .
  7. Remove the reduction driven gear. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION(TR580)>REDUCTION DRIVEN GEAR>REMOVAL .
  8. Remove the transmission control device. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION(TR580)>TRANSMISSION CONTROL DEVICE>REMOVAL .
  9. Remove the bolt securing the oil baffle.

  10. Remove the bolt securing the transmission case.

  11. Using a plastic hammer, expand the clearance and remove the transmission case.

  12. Remove the oil pressure pipe (A) and the oil baffle (B).
    NOTE: The oil pressure pipe (A) may remain on the transmission case side.

  13. Remove the O-rings.

  14. Remove the bearing race.

  15. Remove the reduction drive gear shim.

  16. Remove the O-rings.

  17. Remove the seal rings.

  18. Remove the liquid gasket from the transmission case and converter case.
