Deceleration Sensor

CAUTION: DO NOT place deceleration sensor upside down. If sensor is dropped, it should be replaced.
NOTE: If deceleration sensor is tilted too far, it may show wrong readings.

Remove center console to gain access to deceleration sensor. See Figure. Disconnect and remove deceleration sensor. Connect jumper wires from battery positive terminal to deceleration sensor terminal IGA, and from negative battery terminal to GND. See Fig 1. Measure voltage between sensor terminal GL1 and ground. Compare sensor readings to specified values. See DECELERATION SENSOR VALUES . If sensor voltage values are not as specified, replace sensor.
