Safety Precautions

WARNING: DANGER! Extremely dangerous high voltage (266V). Electrocution can cause death or very serious personal injury.

Every high voltage component has a warning label on it. Be careful not to damage the warning label or to get it dirty when performing a maintenance service. See Fig 1 for warning label locations.

To locate high-voltage components (except high voltage system maintenance connector (service plug), see Fig 2. To locate service plug, see Figure.

General Precautions:

WARNING: Risk of unintentional engine start and poisonous gas in closed spaces when working on vehicles with ignition turned on, or on vehicles that are ready to drive.

Performing work that requires the ignition be turned on:

  1. Put the selector lever into position P
  2. Activate the parking brake.
  3. Turn off the ignition.
  4. Open the hood.
  5. Connect the charging unit, such as battery charger to the battery jump start terminal for the 12V vehicle electrical system.
  6. Turn on the ignition.
