Steering Column: Overhaul: Notes
CAUTION:
DO NOT
strike steering shaft with hammer to remove steering wheel. Hammering could loosen the plastic injections maintaining column rigidity.
NOTE:
Use exploded view illustrations for overhaul of steering column. See Figure and Figure. Perform overhaul procedures with column removed from vehicle, and with steering wheel, combination switch and wiper/washer switch removed from steering column. Step 1) of disassembly procedure can be performed with column in vehicle if necessary.
