How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
    1. NEXT : Go to next step. 
  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS CHECK  
    1. Confirm problem symptoms.
    1. NEXT : Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (SEE  DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      HINT:

      This system uses multiplex communication. Check for DTCs for the multiplex communication system before performing the troubleshooting.

      DTC OUTPUT

      DTC is not output. A
      DTC is output. B
    1. B : GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (SEE  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ) 
    2. A : Go to next step. 
  4. CHECK DTC (SEE  DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ) 
    1. Check for DTCs.
      1. Record the DTCs.
    2. Clear the DTCs.

      HINT:

      After DTCs are all cleared, check if the trouble occurs again 6 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG).

    3. Recheck for DTCs.
      1. Simulate the malfunction and check if the DTCs are output again.
        DTC OUTPUT

        DTC is output. A
        DTC is not output. B
        DTCs are not output, and the malfunction cannot be simulated or checked. C
    1. B : Go to step   10 
    2. C : SYMPTOM SIMULATION (SEE  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ) 
    3. A : Go to next step. 
  5. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART

  7. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING

      1. Inspection with the hand-held tester (DATA LIST/ACTIVE TEST)
