Master Cylinder: Removal: Removal-RHD
NOTE:
Replacement master cylinder assemblies come prefilled with fluid. No fluid service or system bleeding should be required.
- Disconnect battery negative cable.
- Raise vehicle on hoist.
- Using Tool 6638A, disconnect clutch hydraulic quick connect. (Fig 1 and Fig 2 ).
- Remove hydraulic hose from the clips along the frame rail and the dash panel. (Fig 3).
- Lower vehicle.
- Remove the two screws holding the master cylinder remote reservoir to the dash panel.
- Disconnect the master cylinder push rod from the pedal pin. Inspect plastic retainer. If retainer is damaged in any way, it MUST be replaced.
- Remove the clutch interlock/upstop switch cover plate and switch housing from the master cylinder push rod. (Fig 4).
- From the engine compartment, grasp the master cylinder body and rotate approximately 45° in a counterclockwise direction.
- Disengage the master cylinder from the pedal bracket assembly.
- Remove the master cylinder from the vehicle.
