Door Locks Isolation Test

  1. Check if power door locks lock using door lock switches. If doors lock from one switch only, refer to FRONT DOOR LOCK SWITCH OUTPUT TEST  . If the doors do not lock from either switch, refer to DOOR LOCK RELAY ASSEMBLY TEST  . If at least one door locks from both door lock switches, go to next step.
  2. Use body systems cartridge and connect a Tech 1 scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Set Tech 1 to read door lock switch requests. Push both door lock switches toward UNLOCK position.
  3. If Tech 1 does not recognize any unlock requests, see REMOTE DOOR LOCKING TEST  . If Tech 1 recognizes unlock request from only one switch, check wiring and suspect switch. If Tech 1 recognizes all unlock requests, go to next step.
  4. Ensure all doors are unlocked. Attempt to lock all doors using Tech 1. If no doors lock, see DOOR LOCK RELAY ASSEMBLY TEST  . If one door does not lock, check suspect door lock and wiring. If all doors lock, go to next step.
  5. Ensure all doors are locked. Attempt to unlock all doors using Tech 1. If all doors unlock or only driver's door unlocks, see LEFT FRONT DOOR ISOLATION RELAY TEST  . If no doors unlock, refer to DOOR LOCK RELAY ASSEMBLY TEST  . If one door does not unlock, check suspect door lock motor and wiring.
